Skills for Listening

Stress to students the importance of listening closely when working with a group. When group members do not listen closely and respectfully, the group will not function well. Review the strategies on this page. Ask for volunteers to share other strategies they use to listen closely. Then have students practice the strategies as they listen to you read the next page aloud.
