Take a Tour of Noun Town!

Washington, D.C., welcomes you and your students (grades 3–5). They tour from the White House to the Capitol and see the Air and Space Museum and the Museum of African American History. They stand in awe before the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial. Along the way, they'll learn about nouns!

Noun Town includes . . .

  • Three major experiences: government buildings, monuments, and museums
  • Twelve adventures that teach about proper and common nouns, compound nouns, nouns used as subjects and objects, and much more!
  • Three robust activities that allow students to apply what they have learned
  • The Noun Town quiz to test their learning
  • Standards alignment and vocabulary throughout the adventures

You can project videos on the board and have students vote on their next adventure, or you can have students work independently, completing assignments and quizzes at their own pace. They can hand in Google doc assignments through a Google Classroom workflow, or print them out and fill them in by hand. And your students will have a lot to write about—brimming with their amazing discoveries!

So, tour the nation's capital, and learn about the people, places, things, and ideas that make Washington, D.C. into Noun Town!
