Start-Up Activity

Read page 129. Then ask students to draw pictures for the following words:

hats        pans        flags

Remind them that the “s” at the end of each word makes it plural. Ask them how this will affect their pictures.

Enrichment Activity: Have students turn to the “K” page (page 108). Explain that all of the words are singular. Ask students to write each word as a plural by adding “s” or “es.”
