Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15, 1929. States, including Illinois, Ohio, California, and Kentucky made this a great holiday. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an excellent student. He entered college at the age of fifteen in Pennslyvania, where he became the first black in the school’s history to be elected class president.

Martin Luther King, Jr. grew up with a strong religious background in him. In 1954, King became a pastor of a church in Montgomery, Alabama. His mother was a school teacher and his dad was a pastor. Martin Luther King, Jr. married Coretta Scott. Martin Luther King, Jr. went peacefully to Washington, D.C. to say his famous “I have a dream” speech.

On April 4, 1968, an assassin shot and killed Martin Luther King, Jr. So Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his life to make people equal in this country and he gave us reason to be proud of what he did.
