Consonance The repetition of consonant sounds anywhere within words, not just at the beginning.

    A friend offends without offense.

    A foe offends with kind pretense.

End Rhyme The rhyming of words at the ends of lines, as in the following lines.

    The sigh of cars upon wet streets,
    Arrives, retreats,
    Again repeats.
