Adverbs
Adverbs are words that modify (describe) verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. Adverbs tell how, when, where, how often, and how much.
- The softball team practices regularly.
- (regularly modifies the verb practices.)
- Yesterday’s practice was extra long.
- (Extra modifies the adjective long.)
- Last night the players slept quite soundly.
- (Quite modifies the adverb soundly.)
