Using Words Correctly 2
These words sound the same but have different meanings:
- road, rode: Road is a path for traffic. Rode is the past tense of "ride."
As I rode my bike, I saw an alligator by the road.
- sea, see: Sea is a large body of water. See is to look with your eyes.
He stood beside the sea and painted all that he could see.
- to, two, too: To shows direction or purpose. Two is the number 2. Too means "also" or "very."
I went to him and asked if I could paint too. He said, "I have enough for two painters."
