Using Words Correctly 1

Some words have subtle differences in meaning. Pay attention to the following:
affect, effect: Affect is usually a verb meaning "act on or influence." Effect is usually a noun meaning "result."
My mood affects the kind of comics I draw.
I often use loopy motion lines to create a comical effect.
base, bass: Base is the bottom part of something, a military establishment, or a plate in baseball. Bass refers to a low-pitched instrument or voice, or to a fish.
I once drew a cat playing a bass guitar.
The Tomcats were playing at an Army base.
