Using Words Correctly 1

Some words have subtle differences in meaning. Pay attention to the following:
among, between: Among refers to three or more things. Between refers to just two things.
Chocolate, rocky road, and fudge swirl are among my favorite ice cream flavors.
If I had to choose between vanilla and strawberry, I'd choose vanilla.
amount, number: Amount refers to a quantity that you can't count. Number refers to individual items that you can count.
I'd like a large amount of ice cream.
What number of scoops do you want? How about three?
