Using Words Correctly 1

Some words are easy to mix up. Watch out for these:

  • its, it's: Its shows ownership. It's means "it is" or "it has."

It's fun to write a letter and put a sticker on its envelope.

  • their, they're, there: Their shows ownership. They're means "they are." There refers to location.

I turned the envelopes over and wrote friends' addresses there. They're going to write their own letters to me.

  • to, two, too: To shows movement toward something. Two means "2." Too means "very" or "also."

I wrote to my two best friends. I hope they write me, too.
