Using Forms of Adjectives and Adverbs

Adjectives modify nouns, and adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs. They have three forms. A positive adjective or adverb modifies without making a comparison.

I quickly cast my line into the deep water.

      (The adverb quickly modifies cast, and the adjective deep modifies water.)
