Using Dashes and Ellipses

To emphasize an idea, use a dash (—) instead of a comma.

Reggie loves one thing most of all, theater.

Reggie loves one thing most of all—theater.

       (The dash makes "theater" more dramatic.)

To set off information that already includes commas, use a dash.
