Using Commas with Direct Address
Sometimes when you talk to someone, you say the person's name. That's called direct address.
Do you think we should spin the wheel, Sofia?
Ed, what do you think?
Separate the person's name from the sentence using a comma. If the name interrupts the sentence, use a comma before and after the name.
I think, Jayden, that we should.
If you use a title in place of a name, also separate it.
Mom, what do you think?
