Using Adverbs
Most adverbs describe verbs.
Sara always writes. She usually writes on a computer, but she sometimes writes on paper.
(The adverbs always, usually, and sometimes each describe when Sara writes. )
Sara quickly jots notes and then carefully creates stories.
(The adverb quickly tells how Sara jots, and the adverb carefully tells how she creates.)
Adverbs often answer the questions how, when, and where.
