Creating Tone and Mood

Tone reveals the writer's opinion about the topic. You can describe tone with adjectives like sentimental, sarcastic, hopeful, grim, determined, dismissive, playful, exhausted, and so on.

Hopeful: Imagination lets us explore worlds that already exist and those that we can bring into being.

Fearful: Imagination makes us face our biggest enemies—ourselves.
